Beatrice Whelan BA, MSc, PRII Dip
Beatrice Whelan is an author, educator and speaker. She is an award winning social media and content strategist and event marketer with over ten years’ experience in B2B tech.
She is Global Content Manager for Social Media, Events and Blogging at Sage, providing social and inbound content strategy for over 20 markets. She is the lead for Sage Advice, a global content hub for the business community. She is an authority on the use of social media for event promotion.
Beatrice had an early career in arts management which fuels the visual and cultural lexicon she now draws on as an experiential marketer. During this time she worked at the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art on their Time Based Art Festival in Portland Oregon, the Douglas Hyde Gallery Dublin and the Art Management Group of the OPW. She also taught History of Art at Trinity College Dublin for two years.
Beatrice started her marketing career in Google and then launched her own web design business. She was co-organiser of Blog Awards Ireland and has also served on the board of the Irish Internet Association. In 2013 she was a social media ambassador for the ESB ecar programme, The Great Electric Drive.
She has spoken at DMX Dublin, WordCamp Dublin and is a guest lecturer for the DIT Marketing MBA, PRII Certificate in Social Media, and Irish Times Training. She has also provided webinars for the MarketingProfs professional webinar series. She has been published in Huffington Post, Business Plus, Circa Art Magazine and Irish Tatler.
Her work has received many awards including eGovernment Award for Best Accessible Website (2011), Best Inbound Marketing Campaign Social Media Awards (2013), Best Use of Social Media Advocate Marketing Awards (2016) and B2B Marketing Exchange Killer Content Awards (2017).
